@ifttt
Messing around with If This Than That (ifttt.com). Looks to be extremely useful…if I could get any of my tasks to work.
Update: Things are working! Maybe I just needed to be a bit more patient.
- Tweet new WordPress posts is working
- Foursquare check-in photo posted to Flickr is working
- Tweet by tagging an Instagram photo with #tweet
Update 2: There is a delay in things getting posted. I realize ifttt is doing something totally awesome—that will save me a ton of redundant time–its just not as ‘quick’ as I thought it would be.
Got my Oona
I went to the mail box this afternoon and found a key to open the special delivery box. “Hmmm. I guess we’ve got a package. Probably for Matthew’s birthday”, I thought. I opened the special delivery box to find a package from Oona! Whoo Hoo! Finally.
I ran across the Oona on Kickstarter.com in May. You may remember that I was looking for a stand or tripod attachment for my iPhone earlier this year. I watched the video for the Oona and knew that it was exactly what I needed. I pledged $25 and waited for it to reach it’s funding goal, which I knew it would. Well on June 3, 2011 it reached its goal and I began the wait to get mine.

I waited and waited and waited. Then I pretty much forgot about it…kinda. The Oona team were great at keeping me updated on progress via email, but after the first few I kinda stopped even opening them. I just decided to wait. I get so much email. You know what I mean.
Well, as you know, it came today! So I’ll get using it and try to keep you posted.
Got an Oona? How do you like it? What have you been doing with it? I’d love to hear.
Radical Experiment
I turned 36 yesterday. I decided, after finishing David Platt’s book Radical a couple of weeks back, that I would take him up on his challenge and try the Radical Experiment for my 37th year… which began today.
The Radical Experiment is a year-long commitment to five specific challenges:
- To pray for the entire world
- To read through the entire Word
- To commit our lives to multiplying community
- To sacrifice our money for a specific purpose
- To give our time in another context
An overview of the 5 specific challenges can be found here, a more thorough explanation can be found in Radical, which I would recommend for you to read.
I’ll keep you posted on how things are going.
